Karen Washington – ‘Queen of Urban Gardening’

Karen Washington is a NYC-native who has been gardening in the Bronx for decades.  She has become a sought after voice and leader for food justice in urban areas.  Civil Eats recently featured her in their Faces and Visions of the Food Movement, including an interview which discusses many of the ills, and potential solutions, of our modern food system.  Karen presented on a panel at a CFF Urban Agriculture Working Group briefing, and was an invited guest at the 2013 CFF Annual Gathering.
