[UPDATE: A recap of this event with photos and video is now available]

It’s that time of year again! Time to get together with your colleagues and peers in philanthropy who are working to transform our regional food system.  Whether your focus is on nutrition or hunger, food chain workers or farmland preservation, emergency food or food waste, we all have a part to play in creating the just food system that everyone deserves. We encourage your participation whether you’re a long-time CFF member or just entering the field of food systems change.

Join us at the CFF Annual Gathering for an evening of food and drink, networking, and updates from the field. You can view pictures from last year’s Annual Gathering here.

This year’s special guest is Danny Meyer, who will be talking with us about his initiative to address disparities in restaurant pay by eliminating tipping, as well as other food system issues.

Danny Meyer is Chief Executive Officer of Union Square Hospitality Group and the founder of Shake Shack. Union Square Hospitality Group includes Union Square Cafe, Gramercy Tavern, Blue Smoke, Jazz Standard, The Modern, Maialino, Untitled, North End Grill, Marta, and Porchlight, as well as the catering company Union Square Events and the consulting business Hospitality Quotient.

Danny, his restaurants, and chefs have earned an unprecedented 28 James Beard Awards and numerous other accolades for the warm hospitality and service that runs throughout Union Square Hospitality Group’s family of businesses. Danny outlines this distinctive approach to business—called Enlightened Hospitality—in his first business book, Setting the Table, a New York Times bestseller that examines the power of hospitality in restaurants, business, and life. An active national leader in the fight against hunger, Danny serves on the board of Share Our Strength and has long supported hunger relief initiatives including City Harvest, God’s Love We Deliver, and the Bed-Stuy Campaign Against Hunger. In 2015, Danny was named to the TIME 100 list of the Most Influential People in the World.
