Community Food Funders has partnered with the Connecticut Council for Philanthropy and the Connecticut Food Systems Alliance (CFSA), along with The John Merck Fund, the Kendall Foundation, and the Merck Family Fund, to help organize Connecticut-based funders interested in food systems work.

At our first meeting in February, Community Food Funders presented about our regional work and together we discussed the role (and difficulty) of funder collaboratives and aligned funding.  About 17 funders participated, and all agreed to continue meeting as a group under the framework of CFSA as a funder ‘sub-network’.  The purpose of these ongoing meetings is to create a space for networking and information sharing, and to have a forum to discuss Connecticut-specific work and opportunities.

The next CFSA meeting has now been scheduled, and once again CT-based food funders will have a presence.  The CFSA day-long meeting will focus on Food Systems & Climate Change.  You are invited and encouraged to attend the CFSA’s entire meeting (8:30am-2:30pm), but may also come just for the funder convening.  The convening starts at 10:45am and lunch will be served after it ends at 12:15.  For more info see the full day’s agenda and a campus map.

Please contact Adam Liebowitz with any questions, or to RSVP.  When you RSVP, please indicate whether you will be attending the full CFSA meeting or just the funder gathering.
