Community Food Funders is working in partnership with the Connecticut Council for Philanthropy and the Connecticut Food Systems Alliance (CFSA), along with The John Merck Fund, the Kendall Foundation, and the Merck Family Fund, to sponsor a gathering of Connecticut-based funders interested in food systems work.
The purpose of this meeting is to create a space for networking and information sharing, and also to discus the interest and potential of having a more networked group of food funders in Connecticut. We will hear about the regional work of Community Food Funders and discuss ways this network could be a resource for you.
The meeting will be held in conjunction with the CFSA day-long meeting focusing on the economy. You are invited and encouraged to attend the CFSA’s entire meeting (8:30am-2:30pm), but may also come just for the funder convening. The convening will include lunch and will start at 11:20am. Please see the link above for the full day’s schedule. The morning session will take place in the Crystal Room in Mercy Hall. There will be campus maps with meeting locations indicated, and signs posted on the day of the event.
The CFSA meeting will include presentations by
- Henry Talmage, Executive Director of the Connecticut Farm Bureau Association, about statistics on the economic viability of agriculture in Connecticut
- Catherine Bradshaw, CFSA steering committee member, about metrics and results-based accountability
Please contact Adam Liebowitz with any questions, or to RSVP. When you RSVP, please indicate whether you will be attending the full CFSA meeting or just the funder gathering.
